Logistics of the supply and disposal
Supply
The manufacturer transports the granulate directly to the ships at the port by
silo trucks or to the logistics centres located close to the port, where it is
filled into storage silos of an appropriate corresponding size. From the
storage silos, the granulate is then either filled into the special containers
of the DryEGCS® system or in Big Bags, depending on the different
requirements. These are then delivered the short distance to the ship on a
"just-in-time" basis. This method allows several ports to be served cost-efficiently
from one central location. Couple Logistics therefore guarantees the
availability of the required granulate quantity at any time in any port
designated for this purpose.
Depending on the manner of driving and the required granulate quantity, the
granulate is either exchanged or the storage containers are replenished in the
port. Special containers with granulate for the DryEGCS® systems can
be directly exchanged. The required granulate is either directly filled into
the system upon the container being let down directly onto the system or via
pneumatic transport, whereby the granulate is transported from the special
containers or another storage location in the ship and filled into the DryEGCS®
system.
Recycling waste
material, disposal
The used granulate is removed from the ship at the respective port and is
appropriately dealt with by Couple Logistics. To do this, the special
containers from the DryEGCS® system can be exchanged directly. If separate waste
material silos are installed on the ship, the waste material is disposed of
using pneumatic transport, removing the waste from the ship. The material can
also be siphoned from the respective containers at any time through suction.
The waste material is transported to the logistics centres located close to the
ports where it is transferred into and collected in storage silos. In the case
of sufficient quantities for silo transport, the used granulate is siphoned into
a silo truck and transported to the respective recycling centres.
At the recycling centres, the used granulate is returned to the raw material
cycle and thus made available for a further ecological utilisation.
