The first time ever a Dry Exhaust Gas Cleaning System

COUPLE SYSTEMS provides already for the first time ever a Dry Exhaust Gas Cleaning System for ships named DryEGCS®.
DryEGCS® effectively removes sulphur oxide (SOx) as well as nitrogen oxide (NOx). Couple Systems are going to demonstrate that for commercial shipping it is not a contradiction to continue the age of Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) and simultaneously fulfill the requirements of the environmental protection responsibly.

In order to meet upcoming legislations of MARPOL Annex VI (IMO, MEPC 59) safely and cost-effectively a multistage exhaust gas cleaning system is required. DryEGCS® has been successfully operated in power utilities since many years.

DryEGCS®

In a DryEGCS® the lime in the format of granulates is filled in to the reactor and circulated around by the exhaust gas. Finally the chemical reaction takes place and sulphur oxides are neutralized.
The second stage consists of an SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) which decomposites the nitrogen oxides into harmless nitrogen and water. In this configuration the catalyst benefits from the upstream installed DryEGCS® as the SOx being a poison for the catalyst is completely removed within in the first stage. The components are adjusted to the needs and requirements of modern shipping and offer a huge operational availability with low service and maintenance efforts. DryEGCS® does note relocate pollutants from the atmosphere to the sea but extracts the pollutants completely from the biosphere!

We would be more than happy to introduce you in detail to our Exhaust Gas Cleaning System.
